Black Friday is like the Olympics for my Mommy!

I enjoyed Thanksgiving again this year.  It is great to have the whole family get together and of course I appreciated getting to spend a little quality time with my second cousin "Benji".

But this year I discovered something far more exciting and it had nothing to do with Turkey and Family- and it occurs the day after.
So much excitement from Mommy on Black Friday, it was like she was playing one of those video games that she abhors but she was having so much fun, I got into it also.  Oh yeah, we nailed getting that new pair of sheets for a bargain price and we didn't even have to get off the couch!

Shopping is Mommy's passion and this day allows her to shine.

No See Jamie Daddy!

Daddy has a boyhood friend who blows into town during the holidays.  Problem is he has a way of capturing Daddy and keeping him way past his bedtime.

Well Daddy left tonight and Mommy told him not to stay out too late because we had a big day tomorrow!

I was more assertive though, "No See Jamie Daddy!"  You need to be on your A-Game for Thanksgiving.

Just making sure Daddy gets a good nights sleep.

My First Movie Review - Frozen Gets Four Stars!

Aunt Ashley took me to a movie premier today!  I got to see "Frozen" on the first day it was out in the theatre.

Granted, this wasn't the first film I'd seen, but this was the first one I could sit through so I was able to give it a proper review.
Here is my feelings on the film.  "Awesome", "I want to go over and over again", "My favorite character is Olaf the Snowman", "I want a carrot" (After seeing Olaf's nose).
I give "Frozen" four stars and I give Auntie four stars for being so much fun!

Picking Out My New Ride

Papo told Mommy I would be home by 5:30.  He would take me home after he picked-up a part at the Audi store.  Well, I can be very persuasive, I think we will end the night at 6:15.

There is no way I was going to go home without viewing some of the merchandise.
Yeah, I know the look I should have when I finally get my license.

Passing On My Skills

Since I am thoroughly potty trained I think it is finally time to start teaching the skill to others.  I will start with Rexie!
Honestly, I really think Mommy and Daddy owe me a debt of gratitude for my efforts.  Imagine what the situation would be like if Rexie didn't learn how to use the potty.
How miserable would it be having a fully grown Tyrannosaurus roaming the house a couple years from now who didn't know how to wipe?

Celebrating Being A Viking!

I have other ethnicities, Scottish, Swiss and Polynesian but the one that fits me best is the one from Scandinavia, my VIKING heritage!  Grrrr!

Nothing says VIKING like Yulefest at the Nordic Heritage Museum.  I totally need a ship with a Dragon's Head for my bathtub.
We looked at the design of some of the boats.  Papo might need to make me one of these.
Yeah, I could definitely relate to these guys.
Eventually I went a little too berserk and had to be restrained.  Well, I might have been hungry.  Time to feast in Valhalla!
Unfortunately Valhalla was closed on Saturdays so I had to settle for the Salmon Bay Cafe.
There was quite a lot of feasting and drinking!

Sometimes you just need to channel your inner Viking

Spies! Never trust anyone.

I had to throw a bit of a fit tonight.  Only I know why and I have already forgotten.
Mommy mentioned that Santa was watching and then I realized, even though my Elf on a Shelf was safely in my room someone else was watching me . . . And I thought he was my friend!
Yeah, in the quest to get toys from Santa Claus you can't trust anyone.  Guess who I didn't take to bed with me.

Getting The Lights Fixed!

Honestly, I was tired of these blackouts that have been hitting the neighborhood.  It was time to take action! Seattle City Light was there to assist me.
I decided that the real reason was that they needed a new power pole and I did a great job supervising.
I hope that the rest of the neighborhood appreciates my leadership.
Yeah, I know, it wasn't me who got that pole up but I provided the vision.

Reconnecting With An Old Friend!

I love it.  Sometime after Halloween and before Thanksgiving Mommy brings my friend out . . . Jingle Bell Elmo!

He is actually the size of the original Elmo AND he sings!  Can you get any better than that!  Well actually you can.

When I feel that I am being mistreated and want to wall myself off from my parents underneath the table for a little while I now have a companion.
This allows me to hold out just a little longer when I am trying to make a point.

Happy to have my emotional support.

My Nightly Joke

I won't deny it.  The gag just doesn't get old and it kind of annoys Daddy so it even makes it better.
Every night he asks me to pick a book to read for bedtime and I get my pirate ship bookend and ask him to read it to me!

Yeah I know, there are no words on it to read but it frustrates him because he is just trying to streamline getting me to bed as quickly as possible and this is a speed bump.

It is one last act of defiance during the day against parental authority that lets me go to sleep with a smile on my face.

But I Don't Want These Pirate Pajamas

I have two pairs of Pirate Pajamas and tonight I had a very definite decision about which ones I wanted.
The ones that Daddy decided I was going to wear were NOT the ones I wanted.
Yes, Daddy did get them on me, but that didn't mean I needed to accept my plight.  That is what tables are best for besides eating on . . . crying under!

Unfortunately, after a few minutes I had kind of forgotten what I was upset about.  It is sometimes hard to keep a long term grudge when you are a toddler.

I was able to reconcile with my family.

Lazy Sundays

Sometimes it just doesn't make sense to get dressed.  Honestly, I don't see anything wrong with spending an entire day in my pajamas and Daddy figured- why get out of his bathrobe?
I mean if you have nowhere to go why bother getting dressed.  Eventually around one o'clock I suggested that it was actually time to get dressed and Daddy obliged.
We had to start the day eventually.

Meeting some real MEN at the Happy Meal Place

Daddy takes me to the Happy Meal Place and I usually only listen into the conversations of the teenagers with rapt attention but today I couldn't resist becoming involved.

Two real MEN who were my Daddy's age were talking things up and I was fascinated.
I finally had to join the conversation.  Daddy couldn't hold my natural MANLINESS back.
They were both proud Fathers of wonderful daughters but had no SONS.
Yep, nice to meet two MEN who are on the same page as I am.  They both decided that it would be best for me to give in to my natural tendencies and be a star high school FOOTBALL player who would eventually play for the HUSKIES.

Nice to find some people who will enthusiastically support my dreams and aspirations.

I think Daddy will have to deal with a lot more people like this as I grow-up.  Thankful that I will have a support group!

Tying One On For Mommy!

It is hard to believe that over thirty years ago there was a little girl born in San Francisco who would later grow-up to be my Mommy!
My original thought was that Mommy just appeared full grown but it turns out there was actually a long growing process.
How does that Doll taste Mommy?
Well Happy Birthday Mommy!  Thanks for growing up so I could come into the world.
I will celebrate your Birthday by eating the last cupcake.

Love you Mommy!

Helping Daddy Do His Civic Duty

Daddy had to complete his ballot tonight.  After all Daddy, if you don't vote you can't complain.  Mommy seldom approves of the way Daddy votes so she thought perhaps he would listen to me.

Unfortunately, Mommy didn't realize how complex some of the issues were.  It was really starting to throw us both for a curve.
In the end I decided to trust my gut.
Sometimes you can over think things.  This is real Democracy in Action!

Recapping Halloween . . . A few days later

Why am I talking about Halloween a few days after the fact . . . because I am still recovering from it.  Oh my, was it ever fun.

I was ready to plunder the neighborhood's candy, but first I had to go to preschool.
It just made sense for my teacher Mr. Jasen to be dressed as Mr. Smee to match my Captain Hook costume, but I guess we forgot to communicate.
After school it was Game On!
It didn't matter if there was a Pumpkin at the door.  We were going to knock everywhere.
In the end I slowed down a little bit.  After all there were so many people to visit.  Halloween isn't all about candy. It is about connecting with your community.
In the end things got a little bit rambunctious once the sugar kicked-in. Still we kept things under control.  After all we wanted to be invited back to the neighborhood next year.
Once all the excitement cooled down the serious negotiations with Mommy started.  How much candy was she going to extract in taxation?
