Limits Of Play-Doh

Daddy had a very simple task tonight.  MAKE ME A SPINOSAURUS!

Sadly, tonight I learned the limits of Play-Doh and to think it used to seem like it had so much promise.

Instead of the promised Spinosaurus the result was kind of a sick looking Dimetrodon.  Very disappointing!

With results like this I don't know what the heck this kid is so happy about.  He must have low standards.

Ready To Help!

As a Washington State Toddler I am always looking out for the well being of my state.  So I was pretty upset to hear that we are having the worst fire season in recorded history!  Yipes!

Well, I'm not going to take this sitting down.  Especially with all the hard work that the firefighters are going through!
All the Forest Service needs to do is to give me a call.
I wonder if they will want to parachute me in?

Playing The Game, And Playing It Well

What can I say . . . I LOVE ATTENTION.  Though I enjoy my peers my real target is adults and I have become very adept at finding the right ones to talk to when I go to the park.

Other parents can be receptive but they are usually overwhelmed with their own children.   I get the best attention benefits from couples who don't have kids yet.  I am the perfect trial Toddler.

They are usually easy to identify.  They are often younger and in a lot better shape than the parents at the park.

Yeah, talking-up a Mom or Dad I meet at the park might get me a smile or a kind word but they won't get you an entire order of French Fries to feed to the Geese.
I have a great Marketing Plan!

Daddy's Trial Balloon

Daddy sometimes doesn't tell Mommy what he really wants.  Instead he poses it in the form of a question.

Example being, when Daddy heard the movie Guardians Of The Galaxy would be coming to theaters  he posed the question "Do you think Jaxon is finally ready for a superhero movie?"
Daddy was obviously excited.  Finally his favorite comic book hero, Rocket Raccoon was getting his own movie.
Mommy: "It's rated PG-13, are you joking!"
Daddy: "I'm the Parent and this is the Guidance I'm offering."
Wow!  That Trial Balloon went down so quick that Rocket Raccoon might as well of used one of his lasers on it!

Taking Care Of Daddy

It has been awhile since a Daddy could expect a Martini with Olive after work.  Well, it is time we rewind to the 1950s.

A Daddy needs to be pampered when he comes back from a long day at the office so today I intervened.

No Daddy of mine is going to just drink plain soda water!
Perhaps Daddy doesn't know how classy an apricot pit is so I took matters into my own hand and sneaked one in while he wasn't looking.

Stay classy Daddy!

Visiting Thomas

Oh my, with those English accents on TV I always assumed the Island of Sodor was a lot further away.  I guess the American name for it is Snoqualmie.  Regardless, it was nice to meet Thomas The Train and all the other characters in person.

It was great to finally get a formal introduction to all the bigwigs who run the railroad.
Yeah, it doesn't get any better than eating Pringles with one of your best friends while actual trains race by.
But then there was the high point where we actually got to RIDE the train.
It doesn't get better than this . . . until I got another dinosaur at the hardware store on the way home!
What a trip!

The Limits Of Siri

I had high expectations for Siri after last weekend.  She certainly got the job done in locating the Gyro Hut when we needed something to eat after a vigorous day at the water park.

It just seemed natural that she could tell me where I could find a Sauropod.  Hey, if she could find a place to eat good Gyros hidden in a mall how hard could it be to find a dinosaur in Seattle that on average is larger than a house.
Well, I soon found the limits of this piece of technology.  Still, that Gyro was pretty good.

The Majestic Tapir

Yesterday I visited the Woodland Park Zoo with Deeda, while observing the "You Are Here" Map I saw it, the Tapir.  It was an animal I had never seen before and I was determined to see it in its natural habitat.
That was easier said than done.  Especially when we were easily distracted by the carousel.  Suddenly, the day was over and we hadn't observed one.  Well, I wasn't going to make that mistake again.

I could care less about July 4th (Daddy doesn't let me near fireworks anyway), we were going back to the zoo, it was now a quest.

Day two and I was leaving no stone unturned.  Even if the zoo staff was more concerned about trying to get me interested in the nest of African birds I wasn't going to be distracted from my goal the way I was yesterday.
And then after nearly 4 HOURS I had found it.  A little disappointed since all it seemed to want to do was sleep (Nocturnal) but regardless sometimes the journey is more exciting than the destination.  I had Daddy take a "Proof of Life" photo just in case anyone doubted me later on.
