I Approve of My Minion
During our trip to California, Mommy and Daddy decided to bring a friend back with me. They didn't tell me about him until we got on the plane.
Apparently Gru was able to spare one of his Minions for me to take home.
Mommy and Daddy were a little concerned that I wouldn't take to my Minion. After all, he isn't the most conventional stuffed animal. But oh did I take to him!
I just hope my Chica doesn't get jealous.

Back From California
Wow! I just got back from the mystical land of California. I didn't get to meet Snoop Dogg or Arnold Schwarzenegger but I still did have a fun time.
I am now no stranger to running in the surf but I did have a few firsts.
To distract me, they gave me my first lollipop at the Farmers Market. Wow!
And what is a trip to California without a little cruising. Hey, maybe the car didn't move but that was probably for the best since my legs aren't long enough to reach the breaks.
I finished with a vigorous run through the fountain at the Universal City Walk. I actually think it was a ploy to wear me down before the flight.
Well, back to the land of rain.

Getting on the Bird Tomorrow!
I have been told that I am taking a flight tomorrow. This must mean I will get to fly on one of those "Birds" I see flying real high in the sky.
I'm soooo excited that I am still telling Mommy and Daddy about it as of this blog writing (10:16 pm).
I even tried getting on the phone to make a few phone calls to my friends to tell them.
I can't wait to wake up at 4:30 tomorrow and I'm sure neither can Mommy and Daddy!

No Growth Hormones or Steroids Needed!
Some people seem to feel that they need to use hormones or steroids to grow big but NOT me.
I prefer to build myself up naturally.
I am becoming such a little beefcake!
And I am doing it all with real food. No doping here.
Toddlers shouldn't take shortcuts in their development.

My Blankee!
Well it finally happened. I made the emotional connection to a blanket today and it stuck! I even brought it to dinner with me.
Adults just don't understand the security that a cozy piece of cloth can create for a little guy like myself.
Maybe not the most Masculine thing to do but I'm a toddler for God's sake! Maybe I'm not throwing a football around yet but that is something you shouldn't jump into.
In your formative years, it is important to have a solid foundation of security in your life.
The world can be a scary place. Make sure you have some protection when you go out into it.

Doing Fathers Day . . . In Plaid
The men in my family are all tall, have large heads AND they like to wear plaid. They also seem to like to drink cocktails on Sunday afternoons but I haven't been invited to do this yet.
Oh well, I can still strut around in my cute little plaid shirt.
Yet again, another Fathers Day that was really more about me.

High School Graduation!
Mommy has a friend named Alexis who graduated from High School this year. Wow! Mommy used to babysit Alexis when she was my age.
I can't believe the way people can grow-up!
Well, Alexis certainly deserved the graduation party . . . but for me it was scary. Sometimes I can be a very shy toddler.
It probably didn't help that it was so close to my nap time either. I was all about keeping myself VERY close to Mommy.
Someday I may be an outgoing teenager like Alexis, but for now I'm going to stay close to my parents where I am safe.
I'm not quite ready to grow-up yet.

Making A Break For It!
Well, I finally pulled it off. I planned to finally make my escape from the house and this time it worked!
Not only did I open the door but I made it down a few of the stairs before they caught me!
Of course this is just going to make Mommy and Daddy take new precautions now that they know what I am capable of but I guess this is just a part of raising the bar.
Oh the freedom of the outdoors!

What I Really Want, I Can't Have
Why is it that the things I really want are denied to me?!?!
Nothing like Daddy holding a Beer and a Screwdriver to get me excited
Honestly Daddy, if you would just let me play with what I wanted to it would make me very happy.
Sad that I will have to be content with my Sippy Cup. You are no fun Daddy!

Turning Knobs Harmlessly
Usually turning the knob on the washing machine or God forbid a stove gets me a time out.
Well that sure wasn't the case when Papo and Deeda took me to Albert Lee today!
Honestly, the fact that I wasn't able to control open flames or disrupt an actual wash cycle didn't really bother me that much.
Hey, it is mainly about turning knobs anyway. Just at home there are usually consequences.
Mommy and Daddy are going to have to buy me one of these things just so I can get this out of my system.

Trying to Sell the Parents on Not Sleeping
Apparently part of being a Superhero like Daddy is that you not only fight crime but you also "Sell" things.
Well, I decided to do a little selling myself tonight. Mainly selling Mommy and Daddy that I didn't need to go to bed.
This picture represents the nicest I was tonight. Hey, in sales you sometime have to be persistent to get what you want.
But also you sometimes need to compromise. My continual yelling really didn't get me that much more time out of the crib but I did get another half a bottle of milk.
Hey, it was worth a try.

Car Wash . . . Kind of Scary!
So Mommy said we were going to the "Car Wash" today. It sounded good. I mean, I like having baths but I really didn't know what to expect.
It was ok at first when the car was sprayed with water, hey, I do get excited when Daddy sprays me with the hose.
But all of a sudden the car was being buffeted from all sides by strange machines! I was instantly taken out of my comfort zone. Kind of like when a dog licks me or I get a haircut.
Only this time I actually felt a little threatened.
I was happy that we were on the way to the park after that ordeal!
Nothing like Sun and a swing to put things back into perspective!

Putting the Universe Back in Balance
Oh my, the universe was so off this morning. Nothing like getting-up in the morning and feeling so disoriented and upset. It was horrible!
But all of a sudden . . . I was given a waffle and a banana for breakfast. Phew!
Sometimes the Universe can get way, way out of whack!
Balance can be hard to maintain. Just a little thing can REALLY throw things off. Thank God for Waffles and Bananas!

My Traumatic Second Haircut
My first haircut wasn't that bad, mainly because I didn't know what to expect.
Well, I was prepared this time. Prepared to cry!
It didn't matter how sweet my stylist Heather was, I was very upset!
Oh the waterworks were on as tears flowed down my little cheeks. This whole experience is just too new for me to understand.
Heather wiped the tears off but I was still very upset. If you think this is bad Daddy, just wait until my first visit to the dentist.

I Am Not Amused!
Well, seems there was a reason Mommy and Daddy left me with the grandparents tonight. They were visiting another baby!
Turns out their friends Pat and Kim had one recently. I'm all about new playmates, I'm just not into having my parents take a night away from me to go visit him.
Still, I could definitely see us kicking a ball around with each other when he becomes a bit more mobile.
So welcome the the world Matt . . . As long as you stay clear of my Mommy we can be friends.

My Very Own African Safari
Well, many people go on African Safaris . . . but very few people actually get to ride a Giraffe.
I mean, what is the point of just looking at an exotic animal from a car when you could actually tame it. I sure didn't have any trouble dominating my giraffe.
Next time forget the herbivore. I am going to ride a lion!

Speeding Things Up at Trader Joe's
My Daddy was a Courtesy Clerk for his first job so bagging groceries is in my blood.
When Mommy took us to Trader Joe's today I was determined to speed things up.
They just don't seem to have the same sense of URGENCY that I have. Hey, I just wanted to get back to playing. A trip to the grocery store isn't fun after I've run out of things to grab.
Let's get this show on the road!

Learning to Drive With Papo!
Who gets to drive a Tractor, a Jeep and a Boat in one Day! Jaxon, that is who.
Of course there was a bit of supervision from Papo. Hey, everyone needs a mentor. I took the learning very, very, very seriously.
I still haven't discovered how you drive a wagon though. It doesn't help that it doesn't have a steering wheel.
Well, I guess sometimes you need a chauffeur.

Captain Jaxon
Well, I didn't expect to be whisked from my home today. As soon as my nap was over we were on the road.
I was on the road with my turtle at first but things got a lot more exciting!
After that I was shooting over the water . . . Only to be taken to an island castle in the San Juans!
Whew, what a day!

My Other Family
Well, it turns out that I have an entirely other family attached to me as well. All the little boys that Daddy grew-up with have children of their own now.
They all had a get together at the Center for Wooden Boats. It was all about the new opening but it was mainly about entertaining us!
Especially serenading us with traffic cones!
Turns out that there is a big group of people out there who love to keep me entertained! I do love all the attention as well as the friends!
