I sure won that round Daddy. You thought you could wrestle me asleep again and now you are sitting in the living room defeated as Mommy nurses me for like the 100th time tonight. This little tongue was made for tasting new food and mocking those who try and impose rules on me!
This Baby doesn't respond to Sticks . . . Only to Carrots!
Pfftt!

I Want To Cook Like Mommy!
So it was Pasta tonight! There is something about making Pasta with Mommy that I find very exciting. All the bubbling and steaming pots are so, so fascinating to me.
Sadly, Mommy doesn't let me stir the stuff. There is nothing I would enjoy more then to stir the pot with my little hands. Unfortunately, Mommy keeps me far away from the stove and all the bubbling and steaming goodness.
Yeah, she let me play with the pots and spoon a bit but it wasn't the same. : (
She tried to placate me by feeding me some but the stuff wasn't for me. I was all about the process not the product.
Looking forward to more kitchen responsibilities soon!

Fed Myself Tonight!
Daddy couldn't resist his combined leftover dinner of Quiche and Hot Dogs tonight so he was a little slow in feeding me.
I was forced to take matters into my own hands!
The spoon was something that was fun to play with but didn't really do the job of getting as much food into my mouth as possible.
No big deal. I was going to get the rest of the Guacamole somehow.
Sometimes you just have to take the initiative.

Back to ¡Cactus!
It had been awhile since we had been back to Mommy and Daddy's favorite Mexican restaurant, ¡Cactus!. But tonight, we returned. It was very exciting. Mainly because I had the chance to eat Grown-Up food¡
Nothing like Guacamole on one of my Puffs. Cowabunga!
I was set to finish the entire bowl of Guacamole and then the Entree came, and I was introduced to . . .
BEANS! Wow, talk about something I could never live without. I'm loving this adult food more and more!
The night was capped of by Daddy's fun friend Jabe who works at ¡Cactus! dropping by to say "Hi". I think he liked the attention. I sure did!
Can't wait to try this "Salsa" stuff next time I come back but Mommy said I wasn't ready yet.
¡Adios!

Baby Shower!
Mommy's friend Jamie had a Baby Shower today. This was the second one I've been to, actually the first outside of Mommy!
Daddy was politely advised that he probably wouldn't fit in well so he disappeared. So I was the Man of the House! I mean literally, thirteen Women AND my friend Addyson!
I was the only MAN in the house. Very exciting, especially when I got my first kiss from a girl. Addyson pushed me around a bit but I held my ground and was rewarded!
How could any little Boy thinks Girls are Yucky! I love this attention!

Playing Nice
I went to another Birthday Party today. The Girl Next Door, Nora, had her First Birthday! Mommy was busy preparing for a Baby Shower tomorrow so it was just Daddy and Me!
Well, there were still lots of other Babies! Now, I do enjoy the company but . . . Don't get in the way of my access to a toy. I don't care how well we got along earlier. Sometimes you have to look out for Number One!
I got my share of the pie!

More Visitors . . . From California!
What an exciting week! Not only did I get visitors from Iowa but today I got to visit some Great Uncles from . . . California!
Great Uncle Kent and Great Uncle Millard. Very exciting. Granted, they weren't as rambunctious as Kelly from Iowa but they still showered me with lots of attention!
All these mystical place I've heard of, California, Iowa I've even heard whispers of a place called . . . "Oregon". Mommy and Daddy also speak to me of Hawaii but I think that is all hype!
All these magical places I have heard of, my little head is swirling with dreams of what the big wide world can offer!
Just thinking what I will eventually discover when I finally get on an airplane!

Kelly!
Mommy's former roommate, Kelly, came and visited. Kind of surprised since I thought Mommy was born living with Daddy but I learn new things everyday.
Kelly now lives in "Iowa" which is a place I want to move to, especially if all the people there are as exciting as her! She is really enthusiastic and bubbly about everything, especially me!
Mommy and Kelly had a great time. They both drank colored drinks and talked really loudly together.
I asked Kelly to take me back to "Iowa" with her. It sounds like a fun place especially if all the people there are as exciting as her!
Unfortunately, she doesn't speak baby so she got on the plane to Des Moines by herself. : (
The next time she comes back and I'm speaking adult I might be able to make a more compelling case.

Lulu and Papo's 41st Anniversary
Grandma (Lulu) and Grandpa (Papo) had their 41st Wedding Anniversary today. We celebrated with a wheelbarrow ride around the yard before I got disturbed. Hey, it was fun for awhile but it wasn't a stroller. I'm not used to unexpected change.
Apparently, having weddings are how little babies like me are produced. Glad Lulu and Papo started the cycle for me!

Breaking Down Walls . . . Even if it is Just a Laptop!
I sure was hungry after a long day at the pool today!
After a day like that, a baby needs a stiff drink . . . of milk!
The only thing that was in the way of my nourishment was that Laptop. Well, if people put-up walls to what you want you knock them down.
Sorry Mommy, I just had to make a point! I made sure to shake my fist while I was nursing just to make a point also.

Wading Pool Envy
Mommy and Daddy took me to Volunteer Park today. A very exciting experience. I am a total Water Baby!
I waded very close to the center. I would have probably made it all the way if Mommy hadn't told Daddy to turn me around!
No big deal though. Nothing like a good splash in the water on a hot afternoon.
BUT then I turn my head and see a One Year Old walking with his Mommy in the pool by himself. That should be me! Come on Daddy, I'm a Ten Month Old! Let go of my hands and let me show him a thing or two! I can do it!
I'm up for the challenge!
My Parents just hold me back sometimes!

What The . . .
So I woke-up today and had a bit of a surprise. It seems like Mommy and Daddy are one step ahead of me. I can't believe all the rules they are imposing on me the older I get!
The kitchen cabinets used to be my playground now everything is "baby proofed".
I'll find a way to pick the lock. I'm a resourceful baby!

Undermining Daddy's Authority
It was getting late. Way past 8:00. But there was still a lot of playing to do. I definitely wasn't ready to be put to bed. Especially the way Daddy holds me and tries to get me to sleep in a battle of wills.
I sure won tonight. Mommy even told Daddy I could stay-up. Totally overruled. Sometimes Daddy needs to understand the Chain of Command in this house.

Digital Lullabies
When Mommy and Daddy were babies there were no iPhones. I sure am glad I was born when I was, phew.
They never would experience the joy of Andre Bocelli singing "Time to Say Goodbye (Goodnight)" to Elmo on YouTube.
Granted, I slapped the iPhone a few times and made it repeat and I still can't resist trying to eat it, maybe on the hundredth try it will taste good.
After about the fifth time I watched the clip I actually felt like sleeping.

Crying Calisthenics
Stretching is important before any athletic endeavor. You don't just jump into an intense workout without a warm-up first.
If you are going to cry all night, you need to prepare. Stretching increases your endurance so you can go the distance.
Maybe if Daddy had stretched a bit more he wouldn't have given-up so early and passed me to Mommy.
I win again!

Baseball Caps!
I haven't been to a baseball game yet. Even though that exciting event hasn't happened, it doesn't mean I can't pretend to be a Seattle Mariner!
Eventually, Daddy was tired of my nonsense and replaced it with a more suitable baseball cap for our walk.
I preferred the larger one. It was way less tight on my little Baby noggin. When Daddy puts constraining clothes on me it brings back the trauma of when he used to try and swaddle me! Blah!
I can't wait to go stretch out in my crib.

I Love Those Wild Texas Women!
I caught a bit of a new reality TV show tonight. "Big Rich Texas", doesn't have quite the excitement of "Jersey Shore" but it does have a bit of a draw for me. The women are very colorful and loud. Kind of like the Monsters on Sesame Street.
I may be a baby from the Pacific Northwest but I feel like a cowboy tonight!
Yee-Ha!

Makes me want to drink some ice cold beer, put on a Ten-Gallon hat, throw some meat on the barbecue, watch some football and rope me a steer! Maybe even drill for some oil afterwards!

I Want To Drink What Daddy Drinks!!!
I'm not saying I don't appreciate Mommy's milk but it is getting a little boring. Granted, they have also let me try . . . Water! Can you sense a little sarcasm.
I want to drink the stuff Daddy likes to drink!
It wasn't easy at all getting into Daddy's beer. Of course, even if I had been able to gnaw through the box I would have had to get the bottle caps off! Not easy at all.
Almost got myself some coffee!
I really don't understand why Daddy refuses to let my try the things he likes to drink.
Maybe he will start letting me try it after my birthday when I'm a little older.
I'm not growing-up fast enough!

Planning My Birthday Party!
The concept of time is still a bit abstract to me but I'm only a few months from my first Birthday. Mommy prides herself on her party planning ability so it is important to begin preparations now.
One of the first steps is to have a Guest List. Mommy and I went over it a few times but since I am a baby and have no sense of proportion . . . I decided to invite everybody.
Party On!

Trying Out New Sets Of Parents?
There were a few couples dropping by the house over the weekend.
First Aunt Ashley and her Boyfriend Rick.
I was a little confused why Daddy was taking picture of them with me as if they were my parents. Is Daddy planning to trade me in?!?! Granted, I didn't mind taking them for a test drive but I'm not sure if I want to leave Mommy and Daddy!
Are my parents planning something. Am I going to be "Adopted". It's a lot for a little baby to take in.

Taking On The Stairs At Grandma's
Very fun at my Grandma's house today. I got to see my cousin Kaylee. I kept everyone laughing by telling jokes all day. But most importantly I enjoyed showing my physical prowess.

Dow Jones . . . A Great Concern For A Baby!
The Stock Market went down this week big time. Definitely concerning for a baby!
When I see grown-ups on TV screaming louder then me . . . I get concerned.

All in all despite the pain it causes adults I prefer a Bear market over a Bull market. So far in my experience Bears are a lot more fun to cuddle with.

Standing My Ground!
Now I do love my Auntie Ashley, still, it is important to show her who is boss!
Just because I quiver with excitement when you come to babysit me doesn't mean you can get me to eat if I don't feel like it Auntie!
Try to force me to eat and I'm the one who gets to decide whether to open my mouth or not Auntie!
I still love my Auntie, but she must respect my authority!

From Baby to Boy
I feel like some changes are going on in my life. The baby fat is leaving, I'm feeding myself (But prefer to be fed) and I hate and I mean hate shopping with Mommy.
Get ready world, I'm turning into a lean, mean fighting machine!
Me in June, fat, innocent and clueless . . .
. . . and Me in August, wiser and tougher.
I have strengthened my mind like a razor and my body is like a rock. I will be far less docile in the future, especially when Mommy tries to take me shopping!
I am no longer your Pawn.

Seafair . . . Yawn
Mommy and Daddy skipped taking me down to the lake to watch my first Seafair today. We saw the Blue Angels from afar but I was more interested in the truck driving past our house despite all the effort Mommy put in to getting me excited.
Seafair was just an asterisk compared to what I would do later today. I was whisked off to Capitol Hill for some fun.
In order of the events, first we went to the Volunteer Park Cafe for lunch where I tasted my first Banana Bread!
